What's Moulin Rouge! The Musical about?

After years of anticipation, Moulin Rouge! The musical has finally opened in New York!

The musical is based on Baz Luhrmann's hit film of the same name. Set during the Belle Époque, the story follows penniless young poet Christian as he moves to Paris to embrace the bohemian lifestyle. There, he meets the painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, who hires him to work on his latest project: designing a sensational show for the Moulin Rouge cabaret. Responsible for writing the libretto, Christian falls in love with Satine, the revue leader of the famous cabaret.

Why should you see Moulin Rouge! The Musical?

Moulin Rouge! The musical is the most spectacular musical on Broadway.

Above all romantic, the story is full of excess and glamour in a world where aristocrats and bohemians mix.

The songs, borrowed from the pop repertoire, are all hits. The movie soundtracks have been remixed and modernized with new tracks by artists such as Katy Perry, Whitney Houston and Sia. Re-orchestrated and performed with flair, they will send shivers down your spine.

Alex Timbers' sexy staging is incredible. The choreography is ultra-precise, and the sets and costumes are magnificent.

Proof of its quality is that Moulin Rouge! The musical won no fewer than 10 Tony Awards in New York, including Best Musical.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical is a veritable celebration of truth, beauty, freedom and love. It's more than just a show: it's a state of mind. It is the ultimate Broadway show for an unforgettable evening with your partner, friends, or grown-up children!
