What's Hadestown about?
The Broadway musical Hadestown, created by American singer Anaïs Mitchell, is based on the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the story follows penniless artist Orpheus as he meets and falls head over heels in love with a young woman named Eurydice. The two move in together but live in abject poverty. When Eurydice travels to the industrial town of Hadestown in search of food, her journey has consequences.
