What's Beetlejuice about?
The musical Beetlejuice is based on Tim Burton's beloved film of the same name.
This 1988 fantasy film tells the story of a recently deceased couple trying to get rid of the new occupants of their house. To achieve their goal, the ghostly duo summons a mischievous spirit named Betelgeuse (pronounced "Beetlejuice"). Of course, things don't go quite as planned.

Beetlejuice premiered at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., in 2018. A few months later, the show opened on Broadway. Australian composer and singer Eddie Perfect was behind the project, writing the music and lyrics. Scott Brown and Anthony King (Gutenberg! The Musical!) wrote the show's libretto.
The musical received eight Tony Award nominations in 2019. That same year, it won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Scenic Design of a Musical. With its graphic set design and offbeat songs, Beetlejuice is a hilarious musical not to be missed during a stay in New York City!
